KEDDFEST 2026

On April 22, 2026, Wake Forest University's Couch Ballpark will come alive with the voices and vision of young GameChangers. KEDDFEST 2026 brings together students, educators, families, and community partners for a day dedicated to youth-led presentations, community impact projects, and meaningful connection.

This year's theme, "Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies, Healthy Spirits," was chosen by the students themselves, reflecting their understanding that cultivating healthy minds, bodies, and spirits—for themselves and those around them—is the foundation for creating meaningful change and lasting impact in their communities. Join us as we celebrate teens who are leading with kindness, compassion, creativity, and collaboration!

What’s New for 2026

KEDDFEST 2026 marks an exciting evolution in how we celebrate youth leadership. This year brings two major changes:

  • Youth-Led and Collaborative: We will be collaborating with schools in Guilford County, NC and Forsyth County, NC to showcase student-driven projects and ideas. Unlike 2025, where adults led most presentations, 2026 puts the spotlight directly on our young GameChangers as they share their community impact work and ideas, making this year’s KEDDFEST more active and collaborative than ever!

  • Bridging Technology and Connection: In addition to this in-person event, we are expanding our reach by taking our curriculum online to connect with many more young people around the world. Building upon our successful pilot program, “Kindness Zone,” launched in 2025, we are collaborating with students from SparkNC who will bring their tech talent and innovation to the project. KEDDFEST 2026 creates a space where learning, empathy and technology intersect - bridging the power of digital connection with the heart of in-person community impact.

KEDDFEST 2025

The goal of KEDDFEST 2025 was twofold, for our students to introduce their service projects to the community and to broaden awareness on the importance of engaging in essential conversations about racial equity and inclusion. KEDDFEST took place on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at the David F. Couch Ballpark in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Youth from Mt. Tabor High School gathered at the ballpark for the event.  Attendees rotated between five “camps” throughout the day which included: College Camp, Fun Camp, GITG Camp, Hope Camp, and a Wellness Camp.  During the camps, students engaged in a full day of interactive activities including the AR/VR station "Traveling While Black," as well as diverse conversations and presentations pertinent to the acknowledgement of equity and inclusion in our communities.
